About Us
The Blunt & Brave Digital Academy was founded by Emilia Moniszko and Kirk Hastings, the driving forces behind Blunt & Brave. With extensive backgrounds spanning primary, secondary, and higher education, Emilia and Kirk bring a unique blend of educational expertise and industry experience to inspire and educate young minds.
Launched in 2019 as a creative studio, Blunt & Brave has worked with over 50 local and national organisations, including Eurovision, Welsh National Opera and Coventry City of Culture, leveraging branding, film and immersive content to engage and inspire communities.
In 2024, we expanded our mission by establishing the Blunt & Brave Digital Academy, where we provide young people with direct access to cutting-edge technology and expert mentorship. Our programmes equip students with the digital and creative skills they need to succeed in an evolving world.
Our mission is to bridge the gap between education and industry, ensuring that young people - regardless of background - gain both practical skills and real-world insights and are equipped with skills, confidence and options that will help them continue with their professional development.
Over the past few years, I have had the privilege of engaging with over 1,600 young people across Warwickshire and the West Midlands through various roles, working with students from disadvantaged backgrounds, SEN pupils, as well as those in private education and all in between.
My experience in designing and delivering creative programmes for secondary schools has reinforced my belief that hands-on learning, mentorship and exposure to industry professionals can unlock potential and inspire future careers in creative technology.
Through our partnerships with universities, schools and organisations, we aim to equip students with valuable digital and creative skills while fostering an inclusive and inspiring environment both on and off campus. By offering engaging workshops and interactive experiences that provide transferable digital skills to a vast array of career choices with the university journey at the forefront.
