Coventry City of Culture 2021
We partnered with Coventry City of Culture Trust to tell an uplifting story of resilience and creativity through the local music and arts community during the pandemic. At the heart of this project was the production of The Front Room Sessions—a 15-minute documentary showcasing the making of a remotely recorded music album featuring 16 music acts and 16 visual artists.
Under lockdown conditions, the album was recorded and produced remotely from the homes of musicians, with visual artists responding to the tracks by creating music videos. Our role encompassed concept development, storyboarding, and end-to-end production. By combining artist-generated footage with remote mobile video interviews, we captured a compelling narrative that highlighted the innovative spirit of Coventry’s arts sector.
The documentary achieved significant reach and engagement, with over 64,000 video views across platforms and a combined audience of 80,000 on Facebook and Twitter. It celebrated the collaborative efforts of over 30 local artists, musicians, and bands, illustrating how creativity can thrive even in challenging times.
